A Study on the Frequences of diagnosis in General Hospital


Abstract
This study investigates the sort of diagnosis and its number of patients for 5,130 inpatients and 60.993 outpatients in General Hospital attached to C University, Seoul for 6months from April 1, 1983. And the results obtained are as follows:
1. In terms of diseases for month, September shows the highest frequency as 1,160 in outpatient, and April represents the highest as 606 in inpatient.
2. In terms of diseases by classification of diseases, diseases of the nervous system and sense organs shows the highest frequency as 1,029 in outpatient, and the injury and poisoning represent the highest inpatient.
3. On investigating the number of patients by classification of diseases, diseases of the digestive system has the highest proportion as 11.1£¥ in inpatients, and diseases of the respiratory system is 18.8£¥ in outpatient. In month, the outpatients of the respiratory system show the highest frequency of occurrence in April to September, diseases of the digestive system are occurred in April, June, July and September, and injury and poisoning patients in May, and patients of diseases of respiratory system in August.
4. In sex and age, vaginitis and vulvovaginitis shows the high occurrence in outpatients and next bronchitis acute upper respiratory fection of unspecidied site, unspecified gastritis and gastroduodentisits and chronic renal failure are placed in order. In sex male-patients have the diseases in cluding bronchitis, acute upper respiratory infections of unspecified site, chronid renal failure, and unspecified sinusites in order. Female-patients have the diseases including vaginitis and vulvovaginitis, unspecified gastritis and gastroduodenitis, bronchitis acute upper respiratory infection of unspecified site in order. The diseases with the most occurrence of in patients is anaemia unspecified, and the next are placed in order as meningitis unspecified, chronic renal failure, cerebal thrombosis, diabetes mellitus. In sex, male patients have the diseases as hepatitis unspecified, meningitis unspecified, cerebal thrombosisi. diabetes mellitus in order. Female patients shows the trend of diseases as anemia unspecified. chronic renal failuse, meningitis unspecified. cerebal thrombosis and diabetes mellitus in order.
As the conclusions of the investigation. the diseases including bronchitis, acute pharyngitis. acute upper respiratory infections of unspecified site. diabetes mellitus. hepatitis are frequently occured. These diseases can be thought to result from due to pollution of surrounding and rapidly changed atmosphere highly densed population. development of heavy and chemical industries and the increase of cars.
However, the improvments of food-life which indigest much salts and the increase of weight due to the scarce of movement. the clearance and sanitation of restaurants and the drinking methods should be solved.
